our last hoorah's of summer

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. The days are getting shorter-it is dark now when I leave for work-and it makes me really sad :(. I think I can officially say this was the fastest summer I ever remember. Here are a few last things we were able to fit in before fall officially hits.

1. During the middle of August we made a quick trip to Lake Powell with Randy's parents. It was a nice little getaway even though it was only 3 days long. At least we got to go though! Sadly, my family won't be going this year. It is the first time my family has missed Lake Powell since before I was born so it's a pretty big deal. I'm really glad Randy and I were able to go with his parents though! As always, it was wonderful!

2. We also went on another hike. This time we tried Bell's Canyon which is a hike to a waterfall in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was a little shorter, it was 4 miles round trip, and definitely overall easier than Lake Blanche. The end, where you are actually hiking up to the top of the waterfall, is pretty difficult, but other than that it is a fairly easy hike. It was really pretty the entire way. A lot more "deserty" feeling on some parts but the ground was all sand and there were huge pretty boulders along the way.

We still have a few more hikes we need to go on before it gets cold!
