4 months

Kate turned 4 months old on Christmas Eve! I can't believe it. I feel like she is going to be a 1 year old before I know it.




At 4 months, Kate:

*loves to suck on everything. Her hands, my mom's hands, toys, her clothes, her swaddle blankets...

*is such a sweet baby. She loves to rub her swaddle blanket on her face and when I'm feeding her she grabs my shirt and rubs it on her face.

*so good at grabbing everything and is getting very quick at it!

*can roll tummy to back and can get to her side from her back.

*always wants to be able to see what is going on.

*wakes up once during the night. Usually between 2-4am but sometimes will not wake up until around 6am. Takes 2 sometimes 3 naps a day.

*getting much better in her car seat.

*likes to play with her baby doll, her links toys, and books.

*smiles all the time. It's a little more work to get her to laugh out loud, but it does happen on special occasions.

*gets distracted very easily while eating. If she hears anyones voice she stops eating and looks around to find who it was.

*she seems to recognize her name. She looks up whenever one of us says it.

*wearing 3-6 month p.j.'s and fits in both 0-3 month and 3-6 month clothes. Still in 0-3 month onesies.

*everyone comments that she looks just like a doll. I think its the round cheeks, round eyes, and little round mouth. We think she is pretty darn cute :).

*loves to watch my nephews run around and play. She will have fun with them soon!

*stares at my neice Kamryn when she cries and then after a little bit, Kate will start getting sad too. It's sort of funny haha.

*makes the best frowny face I have ever seen.

*gives a huge smile to whoever gets her out of her bed when she wakes up.

*loves the bath.

*loves having all these people around her all the time in Utah. We are going to be very bored when we go back to New York in a few weeks :(.

Kate we love you so much. You make us happier than we could ever imagine. I cannot imagine not seeing your smile everyday. Being your mom has been the most fulfilling thing I have ever done and I would not take it back for anything, even on the hard days. You are such a sweet and happy baby. I love to watch you grow and learn about the world around you. I love that we are starting to learn your little personality. You are my little travel buddy back and forth from New York to Utah, you are going to be quite a professional flier once this 4 years is up :).
