1/2 a year

Can you believe our baby is 6 months old?! I can't. It freaks me out and I might have to cry on her first birthday because I feel like she won't be my baby anymore. Like I say every month, I love every stage and look forward to all the ones to come, but it's so hard to let go when she is changing so fast!

I may be a little biased being her mom, but dang what a cute little stinker :).

Kate, at 6 months you:

*grab at everything extremely fast. I don't even know how you notice everything around you so quickly!

*love to roll all over the place and actually prefer to play on your tummy instead of your back now. Have pulled your legs up under you once just for a second.

*get frustrated when you can't reach what you want.

*make very manly grunting noises randomly when you talk to us. It is super funny :).

*are very talkative when you get in the mood, especially in the morning after we get you out of your crib. Sometimes you are talking so much that you aren't even interested in eating. You pull off and you just sit there and laugh.

*love to watch people, especially kids and babies.

*love your new puppy friend Lady and have met a few baby friends that you like too.

*will sit with items (toy, blanket) hanging out your mouth while you do something else with your hands.

* the other day you copied dad making noise by hitting his hand on the couch. You thought it was really funny and we thought (and always think) you were very smart.

*love when we rub your neck under your chin. It makes you very relaxed.

*usually are too wiggly and interested in everything to cuddle, but when you are in the mood, you give awesome cuddles and great slobber kisses.

*like to "honk" our noses.

*love to read books and touch all of the pictures. You smiled and laughed at yourself on every page of your mirror book one day. You just love mirrors in general.

*sometimes when we talk to you, you tilt your head to the side and stare at us. It's really cute and funny.

*you love when I hold you while I'm brushing my teeth. You think it's really funny. You also like to help me cook.

*favorite toys include: books, the fabric owl, still your flower and links, your Baby Einstein jumper.

*nicknames: still baby Kate, Kate-Kate, KK, Miss Kate, Little Miss Kate, baby, baby girl, little honey, little darlin', sweetheart, and baby Kake from your friend Zelle :).

Dear Kate,

You bring so much joy to our lives. You make us laugh all the time and every moment we get to spend with you makes us so happy. We love to see your little personality coming through. We definitely think you are a silly little girl but you are also very sweet and can be a little sassy at times too. You are starting to know what you want and you are realizing that you want to be able to move and do things by yourself. You never want us to hand you things, you always want to pick them up on your own. Often times when you are reaching for something and we hand it to you, you don't want it anymore unless we move you to it and let you pick it up. You love to feel everything with your hands (and try to eat EVERYTHING) and we feel like we can see you taking in and learning everything around you all the time. So far, you love to grab at food but you have not liked the taste of rice cereal or mashed avocado haha. We will continue to work on that. You are perfect in every way and we hope you know that your entire life.

We love you with all of our hearts and you will always be our little baby girl!
